ZARINA BINTE IBRAHIM, CURRICULUM SPECIALIST
Zarina holds a Diploma in Early Years Teaching from the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore. Her passion for working with young children and interest in the wonders of Science started 12 years ago. Zarina has much experience in developing the Junior Science Curriculum and in conducting workshops for teachers. With her vast experience and competence in this field, Zarina is now the Curriculum Specialist for the programme.
SURYANI BINTE MD YUSUP, SENIOR TEACHER
Suryani has a Degree in Arts and Social Sciences from National University of Singapore. She also holds a Diploma in Early Childhood (DPT) from International Centre of Early Childhood, as well as Certificates in Speech and Drama, and Music and Movement from GIG Education Centre. She has a passion for teaching and has been doing relief teaching since she graduated from NUS. She went into the early childhood industry upon completing her DPT in December 2005.
PARUL AGARWAL, TEACHER
Parul is a graduate in commerce from a reputed Indian University. She holds a Certificate in Preschool Teaching (CPT) awarded by AECES (Association for Early Childhood Educators), Singapore and a Certificate in Creative Writing, Phonics and Speech & Drama (awarded by College of Teachers United Kingdom) from GIG Education Centre. Her quest for knowledge also propelled her to pursue a Diploma in Educational Studies (DoES). Parul has been teaching in preschools and enrichment centres for the past 5 years. Parul enjoys working with preschoolers and loves to respond to their curiosity for different day-to-day phenomenon by imparting science knowledge to them through interesting experiments.
ARNIZAH ABAS, TEACHER
For the past 9 years, Arnizah has been an educator of children aged four to sixteen. She has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, a Diploma in Preschool Education from Learning Capital College as well as a Diploma in Educational Studies from GIG Education Centre. To her, Science is an interesting subject that allows students to get in touch with things in their daily lives.
ANNA WU, TEACHER
Anna is an experienced and passionate early childhood teacher who creates opportunities for children to experience new challenges across a wide spectrum of essential learning. She is equipped with cross-cultural professional experience in the early childhood field as she has had taught locally and in New Zealand. Anna is a registered teacher and holds a full membership with the New Zealand Teachers Council. She has a Bachelor of Education (Teaching) in Early Childhood from University of Otago College of Education.
MARIA TAY, TEACHER
Maria is a diploma holder and is currently pursuing a Degree in Human Resource Management. She is a cheerful, fun-loving and patient person who keeps up with the latest in the education world for the young. She has years of teaching experience from tutoring lower primary school children, and greatly enjoys developing their interests and promoting their discovery in Science. It is her passion to encourage the children she teaches to apply classroom studies in their daily lives. She believes in making lessons fun and exciting so that children will learn better.
KAT ONG, TEACHER
Kat holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Studies from the Learning Capital College and have been in the early childhood industry since 2003. She started her career with the government- aided kindergarten. She is a cheerful and fun-loving person who keeps up with the latest in the education world for the young. With the qualifications and experiences that she has gained, she hopes to impart the joy of learning science to the young ones from the science program.
NASYITAH BINTE YASSIN, TEACHER
Nasyitah is a final-year student from Wheelock College Singapore, pursuing her Degree in Early Childhood. Armed with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, she has been in this field for five years and had worked with children from diverse backgrounds, including children with special needs and children from disadvantaged families.
One of her professional strengths is to be able to converse in basic Mandarin. She has great interest in music and is learning to play the guitar. Nasyitah believes that children need to understand that they are starting a lifelong journey into learning experiences and the best way to start is with science.
FAR’AIN BTE JAAFAR, TEACHER
Far’ain has been very passionate about teaching young children and has been involved in the early childhood field since she was 17 years old. She has been working with young children for over 5 years at various schools. Far’ain graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and presently pursing her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Educational Studies and Leadership at Wheelock College – Singapore.
Her inspiration is a simple quote from Pablo Casals, “You must work – we all must work to make this world worthy of its children”.
