June Holiday Adventure – The Aftermath!

Posted on July 09 2009

What a whirlwind journey it was for our young knights as they join William to rescue Prince Arthur from the evil hand of Queen Evilia. On the first day, our young knights made their own shields, underwent a shield training lesson to learn how to use to defend themselves, and master the art of ballroom dancing… so that they can dance for Queen Ingraine and help her revive the memory of her captured son! It was indeed a sight to behold seeing both the boys and girls dancing to the tune of medieval dance in the large school hall

On Day 2, in the opening skit, the newly promoted Squires stumbled upon 2 Vikings whose ship was stranded on shore. But after making a pact to help each other, they overcame several challenges including traversing through a field of traps blindfolded, uncovering a secret code from under the eyes of the Guardian of Camelot and race through the Shield obstacle… all with one main objective – to retrieve the Wind Element which will help to blow the stranded Vikings ship to sea and transport them to Evilia Land. The kids had the most fun when they had to use their shields to block the “fireballs” that were thrown at them as “board the ship” and travel to Evilia Land. Even the teachers got into the act!

Finally, on the penultimate day, upon “landing” at Evila Land, the Squires had to recover a potion and bags of magical sprinkles. In order to do this, they had to visit the Dragon Lair and maneuver over a large spider web to get the potion, met with the Key Master & Gate Keeper and had to correctly guess the correct route spread over a large board of black & white squares so as to get the sprinkles, and finally enter the castle’s dungeon.

In the end, with the potion and sprinkles, together with William and the other Camelot knights, they helped to release Prince Arthur from his cell and retrieve this Excalibur sword, and banish Queen Evilia forever! Everyone was then knighted, presented with their own pennant and have a group picture taken with all the camp characters.

If this camp is anything to go by, a second run may be on the cards this September holidays!
