
Junior Dance Programme (Ballet)
EVANGELINE CHONG started dancing at the age of eight, Evangeline has studied Chinese classical and folk dances, Classical ballet, Modern and Jazz, with many local and overseas renowned Artists at local Arts Institutions (NAFA & LaSalle SIA) and some other Dance Groups. Her passion and enthusiasm for dance have seen her through many years of training and the results have paid off.
Evangeline has more than 15 years of teaching experience under her belt, especially in Children Dance Program. She is a certified teacher for Chinese Dance Graded Examination Syllabus (Beijing Dance Academy) and a Registered Member of the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD). Her passion to bring dance training to the young drove her to pursue a Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in 1999.
As a dancer, she has performed in many local major events like the National Day Parade, Chingay and Singapore Festival of Arts, as well as with local dance groups.
GAO YU WEN graduated from Shanghai Dance School where she majored in Ballet for 7 years. After her graduation, she received a scholarship by Lasalle College of the Arts where she has achieved BA (Hons) in Dance. Meanwhile, as a professional dancer, she has performed in many dance projects with Singapore Dance Theatre, T.H.E Dance Company, and Esplanade in Singapore. She has been invited as a choreographer and dancer to attend American Dance Festival in Duke University, U.S.A. in 2008. She is the member of C.S.T.D, and T.H.E. Dance Company currently.
NICOLE ONG is trained in a wide array of dance under the tutelage of many reputed instructors. She has gone through classical ballet training with Lim Beng Soon, Jaime Redfern, Ravenna Tucker, Li Tao, Pamela Carvalho and Cheng Hsien Fa. Nicole has obtained her Classical Ballet RAD majors Intermediate under Lim Beng Soon; Latin dance with Shawn and Gladys Tay; Modern Dance with Caren Carino and Tammy L. Wong. Also under Nicole’s belt are jazz, Indian classical dance, lyrical jazz, pilates and yoga.
Nicole has performed in ‘The Nutcracker’ as Snow, Flower and Flute; in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ as Juliet and in ‘Just Dance’ at Victoria Theatre. She has won Gold in the Singapore Youth Festival Indian Classical Dance Category in 1999 and 2003, and the Bronze in the Modern Dance Category in 2001.
CHERYL EDINA TEO is currently training in RAD Intermediate. She has been teaching children ballet with Dancing Star in local pre-schools and kindergartens. In 2008, Cheryl participated in the CSTD Asia-Pacific Dance Competition and had performed in a performance for Crestar School of Dance.
In 2006, she attended a dance exchange workshop in New Zealand and performed in a concert in collaboration between China Welfare Institute and Crestar School of Dance. Apart from ballet and teaching, she is also a student in the National University of Singapore and a member of NUS’ Dance Synergy.
