
English Speech & Drama
FELISA FERNANDEZ is very passionate in teaching and acting. She has obtained a Grade 8 Certificate in Speech and Drama from Trinity College of Music, London. She also has an Associate Diploma in Public Speaking with London College of Music and Associate Diploma in Speech and Drama.
Felisa has much experience in developing the Speech and Drama curriculum and in conducting workshops for teachers and secondary pupils (Understanding Literature and Introduction to Shakespeare’s Plays). With her vast experience and competence in this field, she is now a senior head trainer in the Speech and Drama Department.
MONICA WEE has been an early childhood educator for more than 10 years. She started out in 1994 as a trainee teacher was soon promoted to full-time teacher after receiving her Certification in Early Childhood from National Institute of Education in 1995.
Monica then went on to pursue her Diploma in Montessori in 1998. Equipped with the Montessori Diploma and a Certificate in Speech and Drama, she taught phonics on a freelance basis to preschoolers and foreign students. Monica has also completed her Diploma in Preschool Teaching and is embarking on a Diploma in Leadership.
In 2005, Monica was selected to head an overseas Learning Vision childcare centre in Malaysia. Besides managing the centre operations, Monica imparted a great deal of her creativity and teaching experience to her group of teachers, thereby moulding them towards enhancing the centre’s program and curriculum. Monica has a wealth of experience in working with young children. She often incorporates her rich experiences into her lessons where characters of stories come alive, thus making learning a fun and engaging for the children.
AASHESHA PATHAK holds a Master of Arts degree from India. She worked at Learning Vision's Tan Tock Seng centre between 2001 and 2003.
Returning to India, Mrs Pathak worked as a senior teacher in the primary section of Amity International, one of India's best-known schools. She also served as a consultant to Achievers' – a theatrical and educational institution for schoolchildren.
Aashesha is extremely fond of Indian dance and music and has helped the Indian schools in Singapore choreograph musicals for their various functions.
RAFIDAH SHIHAB has been involved in the early childhood industry for almost three years. She started her career teaching in a private childcare centre and has since earned her Diploma in Pre-School Education Teaching and Leadership. She also has a Certificate in Speech and Drama, Phonics, Creative Writing as well as Music & Movement awarded by the College of Teachers, UK. She is currently pursuing her second certificate in Speech & Drama at Julia Gabriel and plans to continue to specialise in this area.
Her past performance experiences include dance choreography as well as acting and directing concerts/ plays for her previous centre. Her increasing interest in children's speech has led her to work here with Learning Horizon. She brings her vibrant personality and commitment to her job and the children under her care.
FAREENA NIZAR ALI is very much enthusiastic about teaching Speech and Drama. Her passion in the subject has brought her to a level where she is able to obtain her foundation certificate in Speech and Drama from Julia Gabriel's Learning Centre. She has taught Speech and Drama for 4 years now.
Fareena also has a certificate in preschool teaching from Singapore Institute of Management. Armed with these qualifications, Fareena is a wonderful teacher who will liven up the speech and drama classes under her care.
SARAH PARVEEN has been teaching in a pre-school for 4 years now and she has obtained a certificate in Phonics and Phonetics from Thinking Box Consultants. Sarah also has a certificate in Preschool Education Teaching from Singapore Institute of Management and she endeavours to pursue her studies in order to enrich herself and the lives of those she teach.
ZAMILLA MA'AMIN obtained a diploma from Temasek Polytechnic in 2002. She was actively involved in theatre production and was a dance choreographer in Laskside Primary School, Gan Eng Seng Secondary School and National Junior College. She has three years experience in teaching Speech and Drama to preschoolers and it is her creative streak and enthusiasm that makes her classes lively. She used to teach English Speech and Drama in several of our Learning Vision centres.
She has since obtained her Speech education from LAMDA (London Academy Music Dramatic Art).
Zamilla loves working with children and because of her passion and dedication in educating the young ones; she spent a year in Indonesia, teaching in a primary school called Bina Bangsa School. Over there, she taught the primary one students English, Math, Science and the performing arts.
