Music For The Intelligent Mind® (MIM®)

Objectives

Music for the Intelligent Mind (MIM®) courses uses a multi-sensory approach and brain-based concept in music learning for children as young as 12 months. MIM® provides holistic music education through interesting play, ensemble and innovative musical games.

Jump Start

From age 12-23 months

This program not only prepares and primes your child’s mind for more advanced musical studies in MIM Playtime and MIM In Me but enhances your child’s IQ Development, Self Esteem, Creativity, Emotional Intelligence, Musical Geniushood, Physical Coordination and Dexterity.

MIM® Playtime

From age 24-35 months

A holistic approach to introduce formal music training at an early age through interesting play, ensemble, innovative musical games, eye training, speed reading, photographic memory, ear training, performing techniques, music appreciation, rhythmic training and exposure to percussion and piano.

MIM® In Me

From age 36-47 months

Carrying the same playful theme further to introduce basic techniques in piano playing, nurture the child’s creativity through music dictation, improvisation, music mapping and composition. The child will also learn score reading, music theory and music appreciation.

Programme outcome

Skills children will pick up at each level include:

Play simple music scores
Recognise musical notes
Fill in time-signatures for such rhythmic patterns
Understand semitones and tones
Memorize a score
Understand a 2-parts score
Understand note degrees
Able to do skim reading
Able to understand certain musical terms and symbols

Trainers

Our strength is in the commitment and dedication of our trainers. The trainers are carefully selected, trained, and evaluated on a regular basis.

Programme Schedule

Classes are conducted once a week. Each session lasts for an hour. There are 10 sessions every term unless one of the lesson days falls on a public holiday.
